DR SVEN REES (PhD)
EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST
Sven is an experienced Exercise Physiologist with over 15 years experience. Sven holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology from University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Sven has worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the New South Wales Institute of Sport, as a Sport Scientist at the Sydney Academy of Sport and as an Exercise Physiologist in his own practice. In addition, Sven has lectured in Exercise Physiology units at a number universities. As a clinician, Sven has worked with a wide range of individuals: from Olympians, elite sporting teams through to individuals with chronic diseases.
Sven's private practice - 'Exercise Matters' will design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

JARRAD GREENTREE
EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST
Jarrad is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist born and bred in Noosa. Jarrad’s professional interests lie in athlete development and exercise rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries. Jarrad also enjoys working in the paediatric exercise physiology space, believing children should not be held back from being physically active because of any condition, disability or injury. Jarrad has experience in exercise prescription for cognitive disorders and neurological rehabilitation and enjoys assisting his clients to achieve their personalised goals, no matter how big or small those goals might be.
In his spare time Jarrad is a keen triathlete, focusing on the long-distance half Ironman events aspiring to race in the world championships for these events. Having goals of his own, assists Jarrad in understanding client goals and empathising with the ups and downs of an exercise journey. Jarrad is a warm and friendly exercise physiologist who will assist you with your exercise rehabilitation and lifestyle modification to ensure your introduction to an active life is successful, sustainable and evidence based.

ANNIKA COYNE
EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST
With 8+ years of experience as a registered exercise physiologist, Annika brings a wealth of expertise to the field of rehabilitation and strength conditioning. Her journey into Exercise Physiology began through her passion for sports, where overcoming injuries sparked her deep interest in injury prevention and recovery. Since then, her career has evolved into a special interest in injury rehabilitation / prevention and women’s health.
Annika is dedicated to improving women’s health - particularly in addressing the unique challenges women face at different life stages. From pre- and post-natal exercise programs to managing hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause, she focuses on empowering women through tailored exercise programs. Annika’s focus is to educate women on how movement can positively impact their health, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. She understands the complexity of women’s health and creates a safe, supportive environment to help them to feel stronger, regain mobility, and feel more confident in their bodies.

DR JASMINE GREEN
PSYCHOLOGIST
Change Ways Psychology is a private psychology practice dedicated to supporting the mental health & well-being of adults and young people using evidence-based interventions.
Dr Jasmine Green is an advocate for people - not just strategies & techniques. She supports people to be an agent of change in their own life. Change Ways Psychology aims to assist people to find a more helpful way of responding to the issues that ‘get in the way’ of living the life people want for themselves.
Dr Green's approach & interventions are drawn from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to:
Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS), & Positive Psychology. Dr Green also consults with schools to design tailored school wellbeing seminars for staff / students and parents. She also offers mentoring to school psychologists.

PAULA BESSEMS
PSYCHOLOGIST
Paula is a compassionate, trauma-informed and strength-based psychologist with a background in Mental Health, Functional Recovery, Disabilities and Behaviour Support. She is able to assist with difficulties across a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, parenting, emotional regulation, neurodiversity and relationship difficulties.
She works across all ages however has a special interest in supporting children, adolescents, and their families. Her integrative therapeutic approach, personalised to each client, includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Play Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy.
She creates a supportive, non-judgemental and collaborative environment to explore presenting concerns, identify therapeutic goals and finds solutions to increase wellbeing, resilience and quality of life for her clients across the Sunshine Coast.
Paula is available for appointments at Noosa Mind and Body on Thursday and Friday.
DANIELLE GIFFIN
PSYCHOLOGIST
Danielle is a registered psychologist who is passionate about creating a therapeutic relationship with her clients that is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental.
Danielle works with adults and uses evidence-based therapies aligned with client goals, including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused and solution-focused therapy, trauma-focused CBT, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing and EMDR therapy.
Danielle holds a Master of Professional Psychology (University of the Sunshine Coast). She is committed to maintaining a client-centred approach to therapy to work alongside clients to build insight, resilience, practical skills, and cognitive strategies to manage distress, and nurture goals of living a rich and fulfilling life.
Extensive prior experience in corporate business has led Danielle to an interest in work-life balance and managing daily stressors. Danielle has continued this interest as a psychologist where she completed research in work-life balance and parenting of FIFO workers.
Danielle offers 1:1 consultations both in clinic and online. She is available in the clinic 2 days a week.

Mark is a clinical psychologist working with clients to overcome anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and trauma. Mark has extensive training in various evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioural therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.
Mark believes that people who have made the first step to start a therapeutic process want to make meaningful changes. However, people often struggle to find ways to overcome old obstacles and challenges to make the desired changes for personal growth and development. Mark considers that each client is unique, tailoring therapy to the individual needs of everyone he works with. He views the therapy process as a collaborative and active space and believes that therapy is not just about talking and skill building, but also about experiencing emotions in the moment and learning how these shape our thoughts, behaviours, and experiences. Mark’s focus is to work with clients to achieve a greater sense of self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to cope with the challenges of life.

Shayne is a compassionate clinical psychologist with 15+ years of experience working with adults facing a wide range of life’s challenges. She has trained in a variety of different evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and she is an integrative therapist.
Her approach is deeply rooted in psychodynamic tradition, and she is particularly interested in helping her clients explore how earlier relationships and emotional experiences influence them in the present. Shayne offers an opportunity to gain an understanding of the conflicts and early emotional learning that are often at the root of distressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and unhelpful relationship patterns. Her goal is to work together to not only reduce current symptoms of psychological unease, but to also achieve freedom from old patterns that restrict self-compassion, personal growth, and meaningful connection with others.

AMBROSE MCKINNERY
PSYCHOLOGIST & RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLOR
Ambrose brings a wealth of experience & expertise, with 20 years’ experience in clinical and counselling psychology, as well as organisational psychology.
Working across the lifespan from late adolescence onwards, Ambrose has experience in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Frustration & Anger Management, PTSD & other Trauma-based issues, Grief & Loss, Sleeping Difficulties, Confidence & Self-Esteem, Social & Communication skills, Drug and alcohol/Addictions, OCD, pain management, and Elder Care Issues. He also works with couples and relationship issues, as well as work-based and vocational / career issues.
Whilst Ambrose utilises various traditional therapeutic approaches including stress management, he also takes a real-life and solution-focused approach to issues at hand, to help people take more control of their lives, and address emotional distress through understanding the root cause. Ambrose shows much compassion and empathy, but also likes to focus on the outcome and get what it is the client needs for their wellness and betterment.
Ambrose is currently in the clinic one day a week.
DEB KAHLER

Deb is a registered psychologist with over 10 years experience helping people navigate life’s challenges. Her approach is compassionate, evidence-based & tailored to meet your unique needs. Whether you’re dealing with - psychological Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, trauma related Pain, Phobias or seeking Personal Growth, Deb can support you on your journey to well-being.
Deb’s practice focuses on adult clients, with interventions including EMDR, Somatic strategies and Trauma Focused CBT. By focusing on your existing strengths and building up the areas that need attention and development, new insight can help you reach your goals.
Deb takes the time to listen. She provides a compassionate non-judgemental ear to otherwise untold stories. Life has its ups and downs, but it can also be beautiful and full of meaning. Deb can help support you in clarifying what stands in the way of living a satisfying, fulfilling life and teach you the skills to get there.

Dr Carl Thistlethwayte
BONE DENSITOMETRY TECHNOLOGIST
Dr Carl Thistlethwayte joins the Noosa Mind & Body team offering Dexa (DXA) Body Composition Scans and Bone Density Scans. Dr Carl is a Bone Densitometry Technologist, a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, a Certified Heath and Well-Being Coach.
Dr Carl Thistlethwayte graduated with a Masters degree in Chiropractic in 2006 and enjoyed 13 years of “hands on” clinical practice prior to pivoting away from passive therapies due to a chronic repetitive strain injury in 2019.
Since then, Carl has adopted more of an active therapy approach inclusive of lifestyle medicine, health coaching and the GLA:D Back program.
Carl offers in depth analysis of your DEXA scan results and adopts a person-centered approach to support clients in co-designing health goals to facilitate sustainable health behaviour changes. He does this in tandem with the Exercise Physiology team at Exercise Matters. Carl has a keen interest in chronic musculoskeletal disease management. He enjoys working closely with GP’s and being involved in multidisciplinary, allied-health teams.
